Product Management Case study: Sync
Adapting Sync To A New Wave Of Users
Sync is a B2B video conferencing platform. Before 2020, its users were mostly corporate teams at tech savvy companies. When the pandemic hit, Sync saw a sudden wave of academic and government users who needed proof the platform could meet strict security and compliance standards, right as the team was mid build on new video effects and chat features.
I wrote the PRD, ran user research across both new and existing client groups, and prioritized a security focused roadmap (real time alerts, multi factor authentication, compliance features) against an impact versus effort framework.
